HiPP Pure Stage 2 Formula FAQs: Supporting Your Baby's Next Big Step
Is HiPP Pure Stage 2 formula organic?
HiPP Pure Stage 2 carries HiPP's own organic seal, which goes beyond EU organic certification with stricter farming standards and more rigorous ingredient testing — because your growing baby deserves nothing less.
When can I start using HiPP Pure Stage 2?
HiPP Pure Stage 2 is suitable from six months onwards as part of a mixed diet that includes solid foods. It can follow breastfeeding, Stage PRE, or Stage 1 — always consult your healthcare professional before transitioning between formulas.
Can HiPP Pure Stage 2 be used as the sole source of nutrition?
No. From six months onwards, HiPP Pure Stage 2 is designed to complement solid foods rather than replace them. It provides targeted nutritional support alongside your baby's growing mixed diet.
How much iron does HiPP Pure Stage 2 contain?
HiPP Pure Stage 2 contains 1.0mg of iron per 100ml — significantly more than Stage 1 — to replenish iron stores that gradually deplete from around four to six months of age.
Does HiPP Pure Stage 2 contain probiotics or prebiotics?
No. Like Stage PRE and Stage 1, HiPP Pure Stage 2 does not contain added probiotics or prebiotics. Its simple, clean formulation focuses on delivering precisely targeted nutrients for the six month plus stage.
Does HiPP Pure Stage 2 contain palm oil?
No. HiPP Pure Stage 2 is completely free from palm oil across every stage of the Pure range. It uses a blend of sunflower and rapeseed oils alongside whole milk fat for clean, natural nutrition.
Does HiPP Pure Stage 2 contain any allergens?
HiPP Pure Stage 2 contains milk, lactose, fish oil, and soy lecithin as allergens. Always check the ingredient label carefully if your baby has known allergies or sensitivities.
Can HiPP Pure Stage 2 cause constipation?
HiPP Pure Stage 2 is generally well-tolerated. Some babies may experience minor digestive adjustments when transitioning from Stage 1, which typically resolve quickly. If concerns persist, consult your pediatrician.
What if my baby doesn't tolerate HiPP Pure Stage 2 well?
If your baby shows signs of discomfort or sensitivity after switching to Stage 2, stop use and speak with your pediatrician, who can advise on the most suitable formula for your baby's individual needs.
How do I prepare HiPP Pure Stage 2?
Boil fresh water and allow to cool. Add half the required water to a sterilized bottle, then add the correct number of levelled scoops (1 scoop = 4.4g per 30ml water). Shake well, add the remaining water, shake again, and cool to approximately 37°C before feeding.
How much formula does one box make?
Each 500g box of HiPP Pure Stage 2 makes approximately 100 fl oz (3 L) of prepared formula — equivalent to roughly 20 bottles of 5 ounces.
How long can I store opened HiPP Pure Stage 2?
After opening, store HiPP Pure Stage 2 in a cool, dry place at room temperature with the lid tightly sealed. Use within 3 weeks of opening for the best quality and safety.
How long does prepared formula last?
Prepare each bottle fresh just before feeding. Prepared formula can be kept at room temperature for up to 2 hours if unused, or up to 1 hour once your baby has started drinking. Always discard any leftover formula after feeding.
Preparation for all powdered formulas:
Begin by using freshly boiled water for each of your baby's meals and allow it to cool down to 120 degrees Fahrenheit (50 °C) before mixing it with the formula.
Pour 2/3 of the required boiled water into a clean and sterilized bottle.
Utilize the scoop provided with your formula box (note that spoon sizes may vary by brand and lot). Add the appropriate number of leveled scoops of powder, with 1 leveled scoop per 1oz / 30ml of water.
Close the bottle with the nipple and cap, then vigorously shake until all the powder has completely dissolved.
Add the remaining water to the bottle and shake it thoroughly.
Cool the formula to drinking temperature (approximately 98 degrees Fahrenheit or 37 °C), and ALWAYS test the temperature before feeding to prevent scalding or burning your little one.
Important Information:
Only use the scoop provided in the pack.
Do not alter the strength of feeds by adding extra water/scoops, and refrain from adding anything else to the milk.
Always prepare formula freshly; avoid preparing in advance. Use it immediately and discard any leftovers at the end of the feed.
Avoid heating a bottle in a microwave, as it may result in hot spots that could cause scalding.
Consume all opened formula within 21 days. Never use formula beyond its expiration date. The expiration date on the formula box/tin follows the European standard: day/month/year.
Steer clear of storing formula in areas of high heat or humidity.
