Frequently Asked Questions about HiPP Comfort Formula
How HiPP Comfort Formula Works
Explain that HiPP Comfort formula utilizes organic skim milk that undergoes hydrolyzation, breaking down complex milk casein proteins into simpler, more digestible hydrolyzed whey protein. This process results in reduced lactose, making it suitable for babies with sensitive tummies.
When to Start HiPP Comfort Formula
Recommend HiPP Comfort formula for babies from birth to one year of age.
Use as Sole Nutrition Source
Confirm that HiPP Comfort formula can be used as a complete source of nutrition from birth to 6 months, acting as a substitute for or complement to breast milk. Starting at 6 months, it should be fed alongside a diet of solids.
Organic Certification
Explain that due to the hydrolyzed proteins, HiPP Comfort cannot be advertised as organic according to European Commission regulations. Emphasize HiPP's commitment to strict control and GMO-free standards in their non-organic products.
Switching Between Formulas
Confirm that switching between regular formula and HiPP Comfort formula can be done under the recommendation and monitoring of a pediatrician.
Constipation Concerns
Clarify that HiPP Comfort formula generally helps with constipation due to its hydrolyzed nature and reduced lactose content.
Iron Content
Specify that HiPP Comfort formula contains 0.6 mg of iron per 100 ml of prepared formula.
Lactose Content
Indicate that HiPP Comfort formula does contain lactose and is not suitable for babies with lactose intolerance.
Preparation of HiPP Comfort Formula
Provide detailed steps for preparing HiPP Comfort formula, including boiling water, measuring formula powder, shaking, and checking the serving temperature.
Quantity in One Box
Specify that one box of HiPP Comfort makes approximately 164.6 fluid ounces of prepared formula.
Storage Life of HiPP Comfort Formula
Inform that the unopened container can be used until the expiration date, and once opened, it should be used within 3 weeks.
Duration of Prepared Formula
Advise preparing a bottle just before feeding, with a 2-hour limit for unused formula at room temperature and 1 hour once feeding has begun. Recommend discarding any remaining formula after feeding.
Preparation for all powdered formulas:
Begin by using freshly boiled water for each of your baby's meals and allow it to cool down to 120 degrees Fahrenheit (50 °C) before mixing it with the formula.
Pour 2/3 of the required boiled water into a clean and sterilized bottle.
Utilize the scoop provided with your formula box (note that spoon sizes may vary by brand and lot). Add the appropriate number of leveled scoops of powder, with 1 leveled scoop per 1oz / 30ml of water.
Close the bottle with the nipple and cap, then vigorously shake until all the powder has completely dissolved.
Add the remaining water to the bottle and shake it thoroughly.
Cool the formula to drinking temperature (approximately 98 degrees Fahrenheit or 37 °C), and ALWAYS test the temperature before feeding to prevent scalding or burning your little one.
Important Information:
Only use the scoop provided in the pack.
Do not alter the strength of feeds by adding extra water/scoops, and refrain from adding anything else to the milk.
Always prepare formula freshly; avoid preparing in advance. Use it immediately and discard any leftovers at the end of the feed.
Avoid heating a bottle in a microwave, as it may result in hot spots that could cause scalding.
Consume all opened formula within 21 days. Never use formula beyond its expiration date. The expiration date on the formula box/tin follows the European standard: day/month/year.
Steer clear of storing formula in areas of high heat or humidity.
Stage PRE and Stage 1 are exluded from promotional prices or discounts. Prices may be lowered due to economies of scale in fulfilment, parcel handling and distribution.
