HiPP UK Comfort Formula FAQs: Gentle Nutrition for Sensitive Tummies
What is Hipp UK Comfort formula?
HiPP UK Comfort Formula is a specialist infant formula designed for babies with digestive issues like colic, constipation, gas, or general tummy discomfort. It can be used from birth as a sole source of nutrition or as part of a mixed diet after six months.
What makes Hipp Comfort different from regular formula?
HiPP Comfort uses partially hydrolyzed whey protein for easier digestion, along with reduced lactose to help minimize gas and bloating. It also includes prebiotics (GOS) and a special fat blend to promote softer stools and healthy digestion.
Who is Hipp Comfort formula suitable for?
It’s ideal for babies who experience feeding discomfort, such as colic or constipation. However, it is not suitable for infants with a diagnosed cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA). Always consult your pediatrician before starting any specialty formula.
Does Hipp Comfort support healthy development of a baby?
Yes, it contains DHA (as required by EU regulations), ARA, and key vitamins such as A, C, and D to support brain development, vision, and immune function. It also provides all essential nutrients for healthy growth.
Is Hipp UK Comfort organic?
Due to the hydrolyzed proteins, HiPP Comfort cannot be certified organic. However, all other ingredients follow HiPP’s high standards for purity and quality, with no added starch, artificial preservatives, or GMOs.
Can Hipp UK Comfort be used long-term?
Yes, HiPP Comfort is designed for use from birth through 12 months and can serve as a complete source of nutrition or part of a weaning diet. Follow your healthcare provider’s advice regarding duration of use.
How do I prepare Hipp UK Comfort formula?
Use clean, sterilized bottles and follow the instructions on the tin for proper mixing and feeding. Always use the enclosed scoop and boil water before preparing formula to ensure safety.
Are there any side effects or precautions?
HiPP Comfort is generally well tolerated, but as with any formula, some babies may need time to adjust. If you notice unusual symptoms or allergic reactions, speak with a healthcare provider promptly.
How much formula does one can of Hipp UK Comfort make?
Each 800g tin of HiPP UK Comfort makes around 212 fl oz (6.27 liters) of prepared formula—approximately 62 feeds, depending on your baby’s needs and age.
Preparation for all powdered formulas:
Begin by using freshly boiled water for each of your baby's meals and allow it to cool down to 120 degrees Fahrenheit (50 °C) before mixing it with the formula.
Pour 2/3 of the required boiled water into a clean and sterilized bottle.
Utilize the scoop provided with your formula box (note that spoon sizes may vary by brand and lot). Add the appropriate number of leveled scoops of powder, with 1 leveled scoop per 1oz / 30ml of water.
Close the bottle with the nipple and cap, then vigorously shake until all the powder has completely dissolved.
Add the remaining water to the bottle and shake it thoroughly.
Cool the formula to drinking temperature (approximately 98 degrees Fahrenheit or 37 °C), and ALWAYS test the temperature before feeding to prevent scalding or burning your little one.
Important Information:
Only use the scoop provided in the pack.
Do not alter the strength of feeds by adding extra water/scoops, and refrain from adding anything else to the milk.
Always prepare formula freshly; avoid preparing in advance. Use it immediately and discard any leftovers at the end of the feed.
Avoid heating a bottle in a microwave, as it may result in hot spots that could cause scalding.
Consume all opened formula within 21 days. Never use formula beyond its expiration date. The expiration date on the formula box/tin follows the European standard: day/month/year.
Steer clear of storing formula in areas of high heat or humidity.
Stage PRE and Stage 1 are exluded from promotional prices or discounts. Prices may be lowered due to economies of scale in fulfilment, parcel handling and distribution.
